San Jose Sharks goaltender Alex Stalock had minor surgery on his left knee Thursday according to Curtis Pashelka of the Bay Area News Group.
Stalock was abruptly pulled from his scheduled start Tuesday versus the Florida Panthers and was immediately put on injured reserve the following day.
The injury likely occurred Saturday when the 27-year-old was knocked down by Dallas Stars forward Antoine Roussel with 1:09 left in the third period. Stalock was tended to by the trainer but did not leave the game.

“[It] could have been accentuated by that, but I don’t think it’s directly due to that,” Sharks coach Todd McLellan said to Pashelka.
“Everybody plays with bumps and bruises and he aggravated an injury and it got to the point where he couldn’t go, and needed to have some work done. So that’s occurred, that’s happened.”
Stalock had a 2-2-1 record, a 2.38 GAA, and .925 SP% in five games this season, including one shutout.
This is the St. Paul, Minnesota-native’s fourth season with the Sharks, but just his second as the club’s primary backup to starter Antti Niemi.
In his place San Jose has recalled Troy Grosenick from their American Hockey League affiliate.
