The news comes just hours after the Rangers’ blockbuster trade that saw Anthony Duclair, John Moore and a 2016 1st-round pick dealt to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for Keith Yandle, Chris Summers and a 4th-round pick in 2015. They also acquired Carl Klingberg from the Winnipeg Jets, dealing Lee Stempniak in return.

Sheppard has tallied 5 goals and 11 assists for 16 points in 57 games played with the Sharks this season.
