You might know them as Shea Weber and Roman Josi, but the all-star defencemen took on the pseudonyms Jeff Biddle and DJ Amadio (apparently the names of Nashville’s assistant athletic trainers), in order to interview unsuspecting passers-by outside Bridgestone Arena.
The two took turns posing questions to mostly oblivious fans while the other held an unplugged boom microphone to make it look more authentic.
From the guy agreeing that Josi’s been carried all year by the older Weber, to the kid in a Predators shirt who names Rick Nash as his favourite player (and is promptly nudged aside by the aforementioned boom mic), to the guy in a Winnipeg Jets windbreaker, the video has many highlights.
There’s also the fact that Josi, despite a relatively noticeable Swiss accent, does a decent job of playing a believable TV reporter, apparently.
The fact that this all takes place in front of a giant banner featuring the both of them makes it that much better.
Weber and Josi will be joining teammate Pekka Rinne at the 2016 NHL All-Star Game in Nashville on Jan. 31.
