It appears Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby is getting closer to making a decision on whether he’ll play in Europe during the NHL lockout.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Crosby acknowledged his chances at playing overseas in Europe this year significantly increased recently as the lockout continues to drag on.

Despite returning from concussion-like symptoms late in the regular season, Crosby has been inactive for a large part of the last two years and his agent Pat Brisson confirmed the Penguins captain is itching to compete.
“Sidney is at a point of making a decision,” he said. “He has been doing drills for over two years now, more or less.
“Playing hockey is what he does. Unfortunately, the way the (CBA) negotiations are going, (playing in Europe) might be the next step.”
Crosby would essentially have his pick of which team he would play for should he decide to go that route since Brisson said they have received many offers from European clubs.

In June, Crosby signed a 12 year, $104.4 million contract extension with the Penguins.
Last season, Crosby had 37 points in 22 regular season games and added eight points in six playoff games.
