Souray out indefinitely, to undergo more tests

Edmonton Oilers defenceman Sheldon Souray will be out of the line-up indefinitely, Sportsnet has learned, after injuring his hand in a fight with Jarome Iginla Saturday night.

Souray underwent X-rays after the game and is expected to undergo further tests on Sunday which should give the Oilers a better indication of how long he will be out.

The Oilers lost 6-1 to the Calgary Flames on Saturday, now dropping all six games against their provincial rivals this season.

The Elk Point, AB native has four goals and nine assists with a minus-19 ratings in 37 games this season.

Earlier this month, Souray — who has a no-trade clause in his contract — gave general manager Steve Tambellini a list of teams he would accept a trade to should the struggling Oilers want to deal the veteran defenceman.
