Sportsnet.ca – Edmoton Oilers defenceman Sheldon Souray indefinitely with a separated left shoulder, the team announced Thursday.
Souray was placed on the injured reserve list on Oct. 24 and was originally expected to miss three-to-four weeks.
It was retroactive to October 13, when Souray aggravated
an existing shoulder injury after falling to the ice during a
fight with the Vancouver Canucks’ Byron Ritchie in a 4-1 loss.
The 31-year-old blue-liner signed a five-year contract worth $27 million with the Oilers in the offseason.
In six games this campaign, Souray has one goal and an assist.
