Local sports anchor pulls a Ron Burgundy after Capitals loss

A despondent Alex Ovechkin spoke after the Capitals’ Game 7 loss to the Penguins about getting their chances and keeping faith in the team.

Michael Jenkins has been dubbed by Dan Patrick as “sportcasting’s Ron Burgundy.”

Although his potion of choice is bourbon not scotch, scotch, scotch, the local sports anchor has gone viral (again) for delivering the news with a clinking beverage in his right hand.

“You like to drink? I like to drink,” Jenkins begins his Comcast SportsNet TV report on the Washington Capitals’ devastating loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins the morning of May 12 — 2016.

Yes, this video is a year old, but it still applies, it’s brilliant — especially Jenkins’ message to the kids — and, if you’re like me, you’re seeing it for the first time.

It has a right to go viral twice. Cheers!
