Blues assign goalie Allen to Rivermen in AHL

The St. Louis Blues assigned goalie Jake Allen to the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League Thursday, the team’s general manager Doug Armstrong announced.

Allen, went 3-1-0 in five appearances with the Blues this season, registering a 2.62 goals against average and a .895 save percentage with the Blues this season.

The 22-year-old became the first Blues rookie since Reinhard Divis to win each of his first three NHL starts.

In 31 games with the Rivermen this season, Allen is 12-16-2 with a 2.94 GAA, a .903 save percentage and two shutouts.

The Fredericton, N.B., native was drafted by the Blues in the second round (34th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft.
