St. Louis Blues place Paul Stastny on injured reserve

Blues forward Paul Stastny left the game and would not return after an odd play had him tangled up with Nazem Kadri.

The St. Louis Blues have placed centre Paul Stastny on the injured reserve, the team announced Tuesday.

General manager Doug Armstrong announced in a press release that Stastny sustained the injury, described as a “lower-body” issue, in a 2-1 OT win against Toronto on Feb. 9. It appears Stastny was injured when he became tangled up with Nazem Kadri and fell awkwardly (see video above). Stastny left the game after the collision and did not return.

The 31-year-old has 15 goals and 35 points in 54 games this season, while making $7 million against the cap. He has another season after this one left on his contract before he becomes UFA eligible.
