Stars’ Garbutt suspended two games for kneeing

Was Ryan Garbutt's wide stance natural or a happy coincidence? Regardless of intent, the fact that he went what appeared to be knee-on-knee with Taylor Hall certainly did not win him any fans.

The NHL Department of Player Safety has announced that Dallas Stars forward Ryan Garbutt has been suspended two games for kneeing Taylor Hall of the Edmonton Oilers.

The 29-year old Manitoba native received a two minute penalty for tripping on the play.

Garbutt has three goals and eight points in 19 games this season.

Garbutt was suspended for five games in October of 2013 for charging Dustin Penner, who was with the Anaheim Ducks at the time.
