Stars’ Nichushkin out four months with hip injury

The Dallas Stars have lost forward Valeri Nichushkin for four months.

After battling a hip injury all season the 19-year-old Russian has elected to undergo hip surgery.

A decision that was announced by the club via Twitter on Saturday night.

Nichushkin had played in only four games all season as a result of the injury, but had only recently been placed on injured reserve.

The Stars sophomore hadn’t registered a point in any game this season, but had 14 goals and 34 points in 79 games last season as a rookie.
