Stars re-sign defenceman Gavin Bayreuther to one-year contract

The Dallas Stars have re-signed defenceman Gavin Bayreuther to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Monday.

Bayreuther, 25, made his NHL debut with the Stars last season, posting two goals and five points in 19 regular season games. He also appeared in 53 regular season games with the AHL’s Texas Stars, tying second among Texas defencemen with seven goals and ranking third with 25 points.

In his AHL career, Bayreuther has registered 16 goals and 62 points as a member of the Texas Stars. The defenceman has also posted three goals and eight points in 22 Calder Cup playoff games.

Bayreuther was originally undrafted and signed by Dallas as a free agent on March 15, 2017.
