Stars sign defenceman Andrew Bodnarchuk to two-year, two-way deal

The Dallas Stars shored up some defensive depth, signing Andrew Bodnarchuk to a two-year, two-way contract worth $1.45 million.

Bodnarchuk, 27, spent the 2015-16 season between the Colorado Avalanche, Columbus Blue Jackets, and the AHL’s Lake Erie Monsters.

He appeared in 37 combined NHL games last year with Colorado and Columbus, recording two assists with and 14 penalty minutes.

Bodnarchuk was originally selected in the fifth round (No. 128 overall) by the Boston Bruins in the 2006 NHL Draft.
