Stars sign Jamie Oleksiak to one-year deal

The Dallas Stars have signed defenceman Jamie Oleksiak to a one-year contract worth $964,688.

Oleksiak appeared in a career-high 41 games this past season, scoring five goals and adding two assists.

The 24-year-old was the team’s first-round pick (14th overall) in 2011.

The 6-foot-7 blue-liner is the older brother of Olympic swimmer Penny Oleksiak.
