Steve Downie signs with Arizona Coyotes

Steve Downie signed with Arizona on Wednesday.

The Arizona Coyotes added depth up front, signing veteran forward Steve Downie to a one-year deal on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old scored 14 goals, 14 assists with 238 penalty minutes in 72 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins last season.

He has recovered 73 goals, 117 assists with 1,004 penalty minutes in 408 career games with the Penguins, Philadelphia Flyers, Colorado Avalanche, and Tampa Bay Lightning.

Downie was originally drafted by the Flyers in the first round (29th overall) in the 2005 NHL Draft.
