Jonathan Toews was involved in a car accident Thursday morning.
The Blackhawks captain was taken to the hospital in an ambulance but did not suffer any injuries during a minor collision.
“Jonathan was in a minor one-car collision in downtown Chicago this morning while driving himself to the United Center,” a Blackhawks spokesman told ESPNChicago.com. “He was not injured.”
Toews’ car reportedly struck into an L train support beam just before 10 a.m. ET Thursday morning.
The Canadian centre will not play on Thursday and he will miss his second consecutive game with an upper-body injury.
“He’s progressing,” coach Joel Quenneville told local reporters after practice on Thursday. “I guess we’ll say that’s where we’re at.”
The Blackhawks, who sit in sixth place in the Western Conference, are looking for their fifth consecutive win.
