Leafs’ Lupul gets booed at Blue Jays game

Toronto sports fans are passionate about their teams and the athletes that play on them. Just asked Toronto Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul, who was booed by those in attendance at the Rogers Centre during the Toronto Blue Jays 3-1 win over the Boston Red Sox Wednesday.

Fans in the city are upset that the Maple Leafs missed the post-season for a seventh consecutive season and they took their frustrations out on Lupul.

The winger had a good sense of humour about it, though.

The 28-year-old was the most consistent Maple Leafs in 2011-12. The all-star forward registered 25 goals and 67 points in 66 games this season before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury in March.
