Colorado Avalanche forward Darcy Tucker has been suspended for one game, without pay, for making excessive physical contact on an icing play against the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night.
Tucker was assessed a minor penalty for tripping Kings player Matt Greene on the play, which occurred at 10:13 of the third period. The Kings went on to win the game 4-3 in overtime.
Tucker, who will forfeit $11,658.03 for the one-game suspension, will miss Wednesday’s rematch against the Kings.
