HOCKEY WORLD WEIGHS IN AS LEAFS SIGN KADRI
As Hockey Central Insider Nick Kypreos reported Tuesday night, restricted free agent Nazem Kadri and the Toronto Maple Leafs agreed to terms on a two-year, $5.8 million contract.
Social media reaction, as you’d expect, poured in quickly from all corners of the hockey world. Here’s just a sampling.
Happy to be with the leafs for the next couple years, looking forward to camp #leafnation #bestnation

Wondering: is Kadri signing with #Leafs getting same buzz in Toronto as @PKSubban1's signing did in Montreal last winter?

Like the lockout, the Kadri-Leafs saga was always going to come down to a serious deadline. Tomorrow morning was definitely a deadline.

With Kadri signed, is there still room in Toronto for Mason Raymond (going to camp on tryout)? Leafs still have to re-sign Franson.

5.8 million despite the fact you haven't played 100 regular season games in the NHL. Not a bad deal. #kadri

And somewhere, Dave Nonis laughs evilly as he recalibrates his PR death ray on Cody Franson…

Kadri's cap number is just about perfect for what he's done to date. And now he gets 160 odd games to prove he's worth more.

Today I got tickets to my first @MapleLeafs game ever, home opener vs Sens. And now @43_Kadri signs. This is why I moved here from Norway!

Kadri finally signs after realizing that he's not worth $5 million after playing 30 good games in his career

Why are people comparing #Kadri and Subban's contracts? They are two different players playing two different positions. #Leafs

Leafs fans are worried Kadri will want a ton of dough in two years. Doesn't that mean he will be a superstar in two years? Sounds good to me

WELCOME BACK @43_Kadri!!!!!!!!
