After their first round series against the Washington Capitals went just about as long as it possibly could — all the way to double overtime of Game 7 — the Carolina Hurricanes wasted no time eliminating the New York Islanders, completing the series sweep with a decisive 5-2 win at home Friday night.
Last team in, first team out. Ready for Round 3, Carolina?

The Hurricanes missed the post-season nine straight times before squeaking in this year, and are certainly making the most of the opportunity now that they’re here. They don’t often make the playoffs… but when they do, they go all the way to the Eastern Conference Final.

Shout-out to the Hurricanes’ communications team. The club on the ice was at their best Friday night, and so too was their social media squad.
