Sunday afternoon showcased some top-of-the-line hockey action, with both the World Championships gold medal game between Canada and Russia and Game 1 of the Western Conference final between the Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks.

Canada displayed a dominant performance over the Russians to claim gold with a 4-0 victory at the World Championships on Sunday.

Here’s how Twitter reacted throughout the lop-sided game:

While the hockey world awaited what promised to be another exciting episode of a storied rivalry on ice, the players went about their warmup routines:

In addition to the game being another great matchup between rival hockey countries, it was also another chance to see the Sidney Crosby vs. Alex Ovechkin rivalry.

The gold medal was Canada’s first World Championship gold since 2007.
