The Arizona Coyotes and New York Rangers pulled the trigger on a blockbuster deal Sunday afternoon, with both sides moving big pieces.
In what has been the biggest move ahead of Monday’s trade deadline, the Coyotes sent defenceman Keith Yandle to the Rangers in exchange for Anthony Duclair, John Moore and a first-round pick. As a part of the deal, Arizona will retain some of Yandle’s $5.25 million annual cap hit.
Twitter exploded at the news that a top-end d-man, a prized young forward and a high draft pick would be on the move as people weighed in on the Rangers’ win-now play and Arizona’s build-for-tomorrow approach. Here are some of the highlights.
