Twitter Reaction: Too much for Rick Nash?

One of the biggest NHL trade deadline rentals was moved on Sunday, with the Boston Bruins stepping up with an offer capable of prying Rick Nash away from the New York Rangers.

The price – a first- and seventh-round pick, a prospect, Ryan Spooner, along with cap dump Matt Beleskey going to the Rangers – in exchange for a playoff run’s worth of Nash is significant, and for some a bit rich.

So Gorton turned: Rick Nash (50% retained), Nick Holden, and Michael Grabner

Into: a 2018 1st (Bos), a 2018 2nd (NJ), a 2018 3rd (Bos), Yegor Rykov, Ryan Lindgren, Ryan Spooner, Matt Belesky (50% retained), and a 2019 7th (Bos).

How could anyone be upset with this?

Others defended Boston in the deal, saying the impact of a player like Nash goes beyond simple goal and assist totals:
