Two referees injured in Bruins-Senators game

Bad luck for the referees in Ottawa, where two of them were injured.

It was a rough night for NHL officials in Ottawa where the Senators hosted the Boston Bruins.

The officiating crew was down one referee after Kelly Sutherland exited with an injury in the second period, and Francis Charron was left limping and requiring assistance later after he was hit by a Milan Lucic dump in.

Sutherland left the game after he was involved in a collision. The veteran referee was sandwiched between Senators winger Alex Chiasson and Bruins forward Ryan Spooner.

While the crew continued to work minus one referee, Charron was struck by the puck and it looked as though he might have to leave also. However, Charron remained in the game after he was tended to by staff.
