In the final minute of Tuesday’s 3-1 loss to the New York Rangers, Vancouver Canucks forward Alex Burrows delivered a late hit on Rangers defenceman Ryan McDonagh.
Burrows was assessed a five-minute penalty for elbowing and a 10-minute game misconduct, but will not receive a call from the NHL’s player safety department, according to the New York Post:
The 24-year-old McDonagh, who is enjoying a career year with 43 points, left the ice favouring his left shoulder. The injury has been deemed “not serious” as McDonagh suffered no structural damage to his shoulder, but there is no timeline for his return.
