If you thought NHL camera angles peaked with the overhead shot or maybe the net-cam, think again.
The Vancouver Canucks employed a couple of unique high-definition image-capturing techniques for a few select games during the 2011-12 season and are starting to roll out some of the best highlights through the team’s YouTube channel.
The first depicts an Alex Edler goal (and the ensuing celebration) caught by cameras specially designed for super slow-motion. Shot at 300 frames per second, the replay is slowed down to a DJ Screw pace, and is almost as hypnotizing.
The second is snatched from a GoPro camera inserted into the base of the boards.
Fun stuff.
