Vegas Golden Knights release first-ever pre-season schedule

Former NHL GM Brian Lawton joined the Jeff Blair show to discuss what Las Vegas Golden Knights GM George McPhee has to look for going into the team’s expansion draft.

It’s almost time for hockey in Vegas.

The Vegas Golden Knights will hit the ice for the first time this September, with their first pre-season game to be held on the road against the Vancouver Canucks on Sept. 17.

Their first home game will be on Sept. 26 when they host the Los Angeles Kings.

The team released its full pre-season schedule on Wednesday. Here it is:

Sunday, Sept. 17: Vegas Golden Knights at Vancouver Canucks, 2 p.m. PT

Tuesday, Sept. 19: Vegas Golden Knights at Colorado Avalanche, 6 p.m. PT

Thursday, Sept. 21: Vegas Golden Knights at San Jose Sharks, 7:30 p.m. PT

Sunday, Sept. 24: Vegas Golden Knights at Anaheim Ducks, 5 p.m. PT

Tuesday, Sept. 26: Los Angeles Kings at Vegas Golden Knights, 7 p.m. PT

Thursday, Sept. 28: Colorado Avalanche at Vegas Golden Knights, 7 p.m. PT

Sunday, Oct. 1: San Jose Sharks at Vegas Golden Knights, 5 p.m. PT

Of course, we don’t yet know who, exactly, the Golden Knights are just yet — the roster will be revealed during the NHL Awards on June 21, following the NHL Expansion Draft which begins June 18.
