Don’t worry Vegas Golden Knights, Lady Liberty’s got your back.

The first-year franchise has taken the Strip by storm this season, winning over fans from all over the hockey world with the most successful season by an expansion franchise in North American professional sports history.

As part of Las Vegas’s Stanley Cup Playoffs celebrations, a 620-pound Golden Knights jersey-like garment was placed onto the Statue of Liberty replica at New York-New York Hotel and Casino.

Cindy Kiser Murphey, president of the Vegas resort, said the goal was to have Libertas dressed in Golden Knights colours in time for Game 1 of the team’s first-round matchup (a 1-0 win over Los Angeles on Wednesday), but strong winds delayed the proceedings.

In all, two cranes and eight crew members were needed to complete the job.

Vegas goes for a 2-0 series lead against the Kings on Friday at 10 p.m. ET.
