The Minnesota Wild have named Bob Woods as an assistant head coach, the team announced on Saturday.

For the fourth time, the 49-year-old will serve as the assistant coach for Bruce Boudreau, the current head coach of the Wild. Woods worked on Boudreau’s bench from 2005-07 with the Hershey Bears of the AHL, from 2009-12 with the Washington Capitals and most recently from 2012-14 with the Anaheim Ducks.

In 2016-17 Woods was serving as the assistant coach for the Buffalo Sabres, and prior to that he spent two seasons as the general manager and head coach of the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League.

Woods was a defenceman for 13 seasons during which he played in the IHL, ECHL and AHL.
