Defenceman Greg Pateryn is the newest member of the Minnesota Wild, as the club inked him to a three-year deal worth $6.75 million.
The contract carries a $2.25-million cap hit.
Though not an offensive force, the six-foot-three rearguard adds affordable size and depth to the Wild’s blue line and has proven himself to be effective on the penalty kill, too.
Pateryn, 28, started his career with the Montreal Canadiens before joining the Dallas Stars at the 2016-17 deadline. The defenceman has three goals and 13 points in 167 career NHL regular season games.
