Wild’s Devan Dubnyk to miss next start with upper-body injury

Watch as Devan Dubnyk is in some pain after a collision in his crease that he tries to avoid but ends up having his back of head crash off the ice. Dubnyk was able to leave the ice under his own power but was replaced by Alex Stalock.

Minnesota Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and will miss Thursday’s game against the Nashville Predators.

Dubnyk was injured in Tuesday’s win over the Edmonton Oilers. Early in the second period, Dubnyk fell awkwardly to the ice after a collision with teammate Ryan Donato and the Oilers’ Brandon Manning. He was slow to get up after the collision and was replaced in the net by Alex Stalock.

Stalock is expected to start Thursday’s game while Kaapo Kahkonen — who was recalled under emergency conditions from the AHL Wednesday — will backup.

Dubnyk’s injury is just the latest setback for a Wild team that has struggled out of the gate this season. The team enters Wednesday’s action tied with the Chicago Blackhawks for last place in the NHL with a 3-6-0 record.

In other Wild news, winger Jordan Greenway will travel with the team to Nashville. Greenway had two assists against the Oilers Tuesday but didn’t finish the game with an undisclosed injury.
