Wild’s Zach Parise week-to-week with fractured sternum

Zach Parise scored after a perfect play from Mikael Granlund to give the Wild a 2-1 lead over the Jets.

The Minnesota Wild‘s bid to defeat the Winnipeg Jets in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs just got a lot more difficult with the news that they’ll be without Zach Parise for the remainder of the series.

The team has listed Parise as week-to-week after he suffered a fractured sternum in Game 3 on Sunday.

The official recovery timeline is unclear, but the injury could likely keep him out of Round 2 action as well, should Minnesota come back from their 2-1 series deficit to reach the next round.

Parise is the franchise’s all-time playoff goals (14) and points (31) leader with the Wild and had scored in all three games so far this series against Winnipeg. The 2017-18 campaign hasn’t been kind to him, as he missed the first half following back surgery. In 42 regular season games since making his season debut in January, Parise registered 15 goals and nine assists.

Game 4 of the series is set for 8 p.m. ET in Minnesota.
