QMJHL Roundup: Comtois’ four points lead Tigres past Mooseheads


HALIFAX — Maxime Comtois scored two goals and set up two more as the Victoriaville Tigres defeated the Halifax Mooseheads 8-2 on Wednesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Chase Harwell and Simon Lafrance each scored twice and Justin Pare and Alexandre Grise rounded out the offence for Victoriaville (35-20-6).

Vitalii Abramov added three assists.

Maxime Fortier and Raphael Lavoie scored for the Mooseheads (39-15-7).

Tigres goaltender Etienne Montpetit kicked out 34 shots. Halifax’s Blade Mann-Dixon and Alexis Gravel combined for 29 saves.

Victoriaville was 1 for 4 on the power play while the Mooseheads were scoreless on three chances with the man advantage.


CHICOUTIMI, Que. — Alexis Lafreniere and Mathieu Nadeau each scored twice as the Rimouski beat the Sagueneens.

Jason Imbeault and Dmitry Zavgorodniy also scored for the Oceanic (39-14-7).

Kevin Klima and Gabriel Villeneuve replied for Chicoutimi (24-31-4).

Liam Stevens of the Sagueneens was given a match penalty for checking to the head at 18:09 of the third period.


GATINEAU, Que. — Tyler Hylland scored the shootout winner and Mathias Laferriere scored twice in regulation as Cape Breton edged the Olympiques.

Hyland, Kyle McGrath and Egor Sokolov also scored for the Screaming Eagles (27-26-7).

Alexandre Landreville led Gatineau (31-22-7) with two goals. Shawn Boudrias, Giordano Finoro and Metis Roelens had the others.
