BOISBRIAND, Que. – Alexandre Alain had three goals and two assists as the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada downed the Charlottetown Islanders 6-1 on Tuesday in Game 7 of their Quebec Major Junior Hockey League semifinal.
Blainville-Boisbriand will face the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in the championship, with the Armada hosting Game 1 on Friday.
Alex Barre-Boulet scored once and set up three more for the Armada while Drake Batherson added a goal and an assist.
Alain leads all skaters in the playoffs with 16 goals and 28 points in 16 games. Batherson (27) and Barre-Boulet (23) sit second and third, respectively.
Liam Peyton kept the Islanders from being blanked.
Emile Samson made 24 saves for Blainville-Boisbriand as Matthew Welsh turned aside 34 shots for Charlottetown.
The Armada went 3 for 4 on the power play while the Islanders failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.
The Titan earned their place in the QMJHL final by sweeping the Victoriaville Tigres. They are 12-2 in the post-season and on a 10-game winning streak. Meanwhile, the Armada have gone 12-4 en route to the championship, with three of those losses coming in overtime.
