QMJHL Roundup: Huskies beat Oceanic, extend win streak to 18 games

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. – Rafael Harvey-Pinard scored twice and added an assist as the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies extended their win streak to 18 games with a 5-1 victory over the Rimouski Oceanic on Sunday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Noah Dobson, Joel Teasdale and Vincent Marleau also scored for the Huskies (49-7-1), who are ranked No. 1 in the 60-team Canadian Hockey League..

Carson MacKinnon scored late in the third for the Oceanic (37-17-3) to make it a 4-1 contest.

Zachary Emond made 32 saves for Rouyn-Noranda as Tristan Berube turned away 43-of-48 shots for Rimouski.

The Huskies 2 for 5 on the power play while the Oceanic were 0 for 4 with the man advantage.

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — Joseph Veleno and Nicolas Guay each scored twice as the Voltigeurs toppled Shawinigan to improve to 9-0-1 in their last 10 outings.

Gregor MacLeod and Maxime Comtois also scored while Anthony Morrone stopped 24 shots for Drummondville (44-10-2).

Valentin Nussbaumer led the Cataractes (14-38-4) with a pair of goals. Xavier Bourgault and Charles Beaudoin also scored as Justin Blanchette made 33 saves.

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Benjamin Tardif scored the winner at 19:53 of the third as the Phoenix doubled up Cape Breton.

Oliver Okuliar, Jeremy Jacques and Ryan DaSilva also scored for Sherbrooke (33-21-2). Dakota Lund-Cornish turned away 30 shots for the win.

Mitchell Balmas and Felix Lafrance replied for the Screaming Eagles (33-18-5). William Grimard made 23 saves in a losing cause.

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Nicolas Ouellet had a goal and two helpers as Val-d’Or dealt the Armada their fifth loss in a row.

Jonathan Lemieux kicked out 31 shots while Felix Boivin, Jeremy Michel, Ivan Kozlov and Marshall Lessard also scored for the Foreurs (20-32-5).

Miguel Tourigny found the back of the net for Blainville-Boisbriand (19-35-2). Olivier Adam turned away 17-of-21 shots in a losing effort.

TIGRES 3 TITAN 2 (OT)

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Mikhail Abramov struck the winner at 1:27 of overtime as the Tigres handed Acadie-Bathurst its 17th consecutive defeat.

Jerome Gravel and Anthony Poulin also scored for Victoriaville (24-29-4), which got 19 saves from Tristan Cote-Cazenave.

Mathieu Desgagnes and Evan MacKinnon hit the scoresheet for the Titan (7-45-4). Mark Grametbauer turned aside 39 shots in defeat.
