Buffalo fans certainly got their money’s worth Monday night when the Sabres took on the Dallas Stars, despite a 4-3 loss for the home team.
Not only did ticket holders witness Matt Moulson’s terrific two-goal debut for his new team following Sunday’s trade with the New York Islanders that saw Thomas Vanek head the other way, but former Sabres coach Lindy Ruff also just happened to be returning to his old stomping grounds as bench boss for the Stars.
Oh. As if all of that wasn’t enough, Monday was also Buffalo’s turn to host its Hockey Fights Cancer event and it was Steve Ott’s first game as the sole captain of the Sabres.
