Gotta See It: Phil Kessel throws serious shade at USA Hockey

Phil Kessel followed through on his promise to bring the Stanley Cup to Toronto, stopping to visit Sick Kids Hospital to pose for pictures.

Phil Kessel may have just won Twitter.

Kessel got the hockey world’s attention when he tweeted out a, uh, pretty strong message just minutes after Team USA’s World Cup hopes crumbled with a 4-2 loss to Team Canada Tuesday night.

Kessel has tweeted a whopping three times in this calendar year: one is a photo of him hoisting the Stanley Cup with the Penguins this past June, one is about golf, and his latest might just be the best tweet of the World Cup tournament.

Two years after he was Team USA’s leader in points at the Sochi Olympics in 2014, Kessel was left off the World Cup squad — a move that was widely considered one of the most puzzling snubs of the tournament. The Penguins star, who underwent hand surgery this off-season, remained silent about the decision. Until now, of course.

With tweets like this, we’re hoping Kessel keeps his Twitter game going strong from now on.
