Patrik Berglund has been named to Team Sweden ahead of the World Cup of Hockey, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association announced Monday.
The St. Louis Blues forward replaces Rickard Rakell, who is currently hospitalized in Gothenburg with an unspecified illness.
Berglund, 28, has tallied 128 goals and 262 points in 555 career NHL games.
Sweden has played two pre-tournament games against Finland, losing in overtime on Sept. 8 and winning in regulation on Saturday. They’ll play Team Europe in another tune-up game Wednesday.
