CAMPBELLVILLE, Ont. — Michael Del Zotto, star defenceman for the New York Rangers, will be the special celebrity drawmaster for this year’s $1.5 million Pepsi North America Cup.
Del Zotto will be on hand to assist with the noon event, set for Tuesday, June 12, at Mohawk.
The N.A. Cup will take place Saturday, June 16 at the Campbellville track.
A native of Stouffville, Ont., Del Zotto began his junior hockey career with the Oshawa Generals in 2006, before being selected in the first round, 20th overall by the New York Rangers in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Born in 1990, he became the youngest player in Rangers history to play on opening night at age 19.
This past season, Del Zotto posted 10 goals and 31 assists in 77 games for the Eastern Conference champion Rangers.
