On a quiet night for Connor Bedard, he still found a way to make the biggest play of the game.
The Regina Pats star tipped home Parker Berge's point shot with 1:55 left to give his team a 4-3 win over the host Brandon Wheat Kings in WHL action on Friday.
It was Bedard's WHL-leading 53rd goal of the season — his only point of the night. It snapped Bedard's streak of five consecutive multi-point games.
Brandon outshot the Pats 47-19.
Bedard's goal sent the Pats to their third win in a row as they try to secure a playoff spot in what is sure to be the North Vancouver product's final year of junior.
The 17-year-old Bedard is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the NHL Draft this summer.
BEDARD’S SEASON TOTALS: 44 GP, 53 G, 54 A, 107 Pts.
PATS’ RECORD: 28-24-3 (Sixth in the Eastern Conference)
UP NEXT: The Pats complete a home-and-home series with Brandon on Saturday in Regina at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT.
