While it is not a formal IIHF event, it is one of the first opportunities for the next generation of hockey stars to represent Canada in an international competition.
Wednesday marked the final day of round-robin games. The semifinals will take place Friday and the medal games will be played Saturday.
Canada will face the second-place finisher in Group B, which will be Finland after its 2-1 round-robin.
The defending champion United States will take on Slovakia in the other semifinal.
