Barrie Colts defenceman Kashawn Aitcheson will not play on Wednesday against the Sudbury Wolves as the OHL continues to investigate allegations that a bounty was placed on Aitcheson by the Wolves during a previous meeting between the two teams, Sportsnet's Jeff Marek reports.
The OHL opened the investigation on Feb. 21 after accusations surfaced that the Wolves had placed a bounty on Aitcheson, who laid a hard but legal hit on Wolves forward Nathan Villeneuve during a game between Barrie and Sudbury on Jan. 18.
Aitcheson did not play when the two teams met again three days after the incident.
When asked about the alleged bounty by Marek last week, the OHL said it was investigating an incident, but would not comment further as the investigation is ongoing.
