NORTH BAY, Ont. -- Avery Hayes and Logan Morrison each scored twice and added an assist as the Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the North Bay Battalion 6-4 Wednesday to come a win away from booking a ticket into the OHL playoffs' championship round.

The win extended Hamilton's win streak to 11 games since the playoffs started.

Morrison scored his playoffs-leading 12 and 13th goals in the win.

Anthony Romani and Nic Sima scored and assisted each for North Bay.

The Battalion struck first in the contest as Matvey Petrov scored 2:42 into the game.

By the time the third period rolled around, though, the Bulldogs were leading 4-3 and put the game away on a Ryan Winterton goal 2:34 into the final frame.

Hamilton will go for its third straight series sweep on Friday in North Bay.

Elsewhere around the OHL playoffs, the Flint Firebirds took a 2-1 series lead in their series with the Windsor Spitfires with a 6-3 win.

Game 4 of that series goes Friday in Flint.
