The Quebec-based teams will begin their pursuit of the cup on Thursday, April 8, while the Maritimes Division teams will start their playoff journey on Tuesday, May 4.
In Quebec, the top six teams in both the West and East division will make the playoffs, with the first and second seeds receiving a bye until the next round. The sixth seed will face the third seed, and the fifth seed will play the fourth seed in a best-of-five-series.
After the initial round, winning teams will stay in division, playing the two top seeds who had received byes.
Finally, the final round will consist of the highest-seeded team from the West Division facing off against the lowest-seeded team from the East Division, and vice versa. The two winners will then head to the semi-finals that will include the winner of the Maritimes Divison.
On the Maritimes side, six teams will make playoffs, with the six, five, and four seeds competing in a mini knockout round tournament. The fifth and sixth seed will play a single game, with the winner moving on to play the fourth seed in a single-game knockout round.
From there, the knockout winner will face the No. 1 ranked team, with second and third place clubs facing off, both in a five-game-series. The two winners will then face off with a spot in the Presidents Cup on the line.
The 2021 Presidents Cup itself will feature two teams from Quebec and one from the Maritimes. These three teams will face off in a round-robin tournament to determine the Presidents Cup champion.
