QMJHL Roundup: Mooseheads hold off Titan in thrilling final period for victory

BATHURST, N.B. — Mathieu Cataford scored a hat trick and Jordan Dumais recorded a game-high four points Wednesday as the Halifax Mooseheads defeated the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 6-4.

Cataford scored the game's opening two goals before Riley Kidney put the Titan (1-2-1) on the board in the second period. In the third, Cataford notched his second power-play goal and third overall of the night, followed by a Dumais score to put the Mooseheads (2-0-0) up 4-1. Dumais also recorded three assists.

After two goals from Blake Pilgrim-Edwards and Ben Allison made it 4-3, it was Stephane Jr. Huard, then Markus Vidicek who put the game out of reach for Halifax late in the final period.

Dylan Andrews added one more for Acadie-Bathurst with just over two minutes remaining, but that was as close as the team would get.

VAL-D'OR, QUE. — Justin Robidas scored two goals and dished out three assists to lead Val-d'Or to victory over Gatineau. The Olympiques (1-2-2) went up 2-1 early in the second period before the Foreurs (3-2-0) scored four unanswered goals to seal the win.

BOISBRIAND, QUE. — Charles-Edward Gravel put forth an impressive 45-save shutout performance to lead Blainville-Boisbriand past Rouyn-Noranda (2-3-0). Beck Majdell scored the game's lone goal for the Armada (4-1-0).
