The Swift Current Broncos will be without their head coach for an indefinite period of time.
The WHL team announced Wednesday that Dean DeSilva has been suspended, "pending investigation of a matter related to the WHL Standards of Conduct during an on-ice practice."
Assistant coach Regan Darby was to serve as head coach, starting with Wednesday night's game against Brandon.
The Broncos hired DeSilva after he spent the past four seasons as an assistant with the Everett Silvertips.
The native of Ayr, Ont., also has worked as an assistant coach of the Vancouver Giants and as a head coach for junior-B teams in Ontario.
The Broncos entered Wednesday with a 6-7-1-0 record. They had lost five in a row before Wednesday.
