All world junior teams will play exhibition games on Thursday

All 10 teams in the world junior hockey championship will play one pre-tournament game on Thursday in Edmonton or Red Deer, Alta.

The original pre-tournament schedule, which was supposed to start on Sunday, was scrapped on Saturday because of COVID-19 concerns. East team was originally supposed to play two games.

Canada's pre-tournament game will be against Russia on Thursday at Edmonton's Rogers Place at 7 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.

Finland faces the United States earlier in the day in Edmonton.

Slovakia meets Germany, Czechia clashes with Switzerland and Austria battles Sweden in Red Deer.

The tournament is scheduled to start on Dec. 26.
