QMJHL Roundup: Mercer, Sagueneens need shootout to beat Drakkar


CHICOUTIMI, Que. – Christopher Farmer and Dawson Mercer both scored in the shootout as the Chicoutimi Sagueneens downed the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 3-2 in Chicoutimi Sunday afternoon.

Matej Kaslik and Olivier Pouliot scored for the Sagueneens in regulation. Pouliot scored the game-tying goal with four minutes to play. Andrew Belchamber and Etienne Arseneau scored for the Drakkar.

Sergei Litvinov turned aside 20 shots for Chicoutimi. Lucas Fitzpatrick kicked out 49 shots for Baie-Comeau. Chicoutimi now has three wins in their last five games.


DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — Justin Cote scored twice as the Drummondville Voltigeurs vanquished the Gatineau Olympiques 4-1 in Drummondville on Sunday afternoon. Jeremy Lapointe and Daniel Agostino also scored for Drummondville. Zachary Dean scored for the Olympiques.


RIMOUSKI, Que.— Adam Raska scored twice as the Rimouski Oceanic downed the Quebec Remparts 7-5 in Rimouski on Sunday afternoon. Ludovic Soucy, Alexander Gaudio, Jacob Mathieu, Nathan Ouellet and Alex Drover also scored for the Oceanic. Pierrick Dube scored twice for the Remparts. Theo Rochette, Evan Nause and Edouard Cournoyer also scored for the Remparts.


SHAWINIGAN, Que. — Benjamin Tardif scored twice as the Victoriaville Tigres sunk the Shawinigan Cataractes 6-0 in Shawinigan on Sunday afternoon. Shawn Element, Mikhail Abramov, Nicolas Daigle and Vincent Sevigny also scored for the Tigres. Antoine Coulombe combined with Antoine Coulombe for 18 saves for Shawinigan.
