The Drummondville Voltigeurs announced a positive test for COVID-19 among its players on Thursday.

Drummondville has suspended in-person activities following the positive test, with all personnel self-isolating and undergoing testing, per the QMJHL’s health protocol.

The QMJHL suspended play in the league’s Quebec-based division until at least Oct. 28 as six of the province’s 12 teams are located in “red zones” for COVID-19, making it “impossible” to continue play.

There were also outbreaks within the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, who announced 18 positive tests, and the Sherbrooke Phoenix, who said they had eight. Those teams played each other during the opening weekend of the 2020-21 season.
