PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — With Brooke Henderson’s 2026 campaign on the horizon, she’s celebrating more than just a new season.
Brittany Henderson, Brooke’s sister and long-time caddie, is pregnant. She and Zach Sepanik, her husband of five years, are expecting their first child in June, the family said.
Brittany has been on the bag for all but one of Brooke’s LPGA Tour victories, including last year’s CPKC Women’s Open. Brittany told Sportsnet.ca she will caddie for her sister at the season-opening Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions next week, but it’s likely that will be the only time she works this year.
There is a chance, Brittany said, she could work at the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship and Grant Thornton Invitational events (in November and December, respectively) as both of those are within driving distance of her home in southwest Florida.
“I’m keeping that in the back of my mind as a hopeful possibility. There are a lot of variables of course, so I couldn’t make any promises right now,” Brittany Henderson said.
“I hope to get back to it eventually, I’m just not sure when that will be.”
Brooke will have veteran caddie John Killeen on the bag when she heads to Asia for the early-season swing of events. He has worked on the LPGA Tour for more than four decades and has had stints with some icons of women’s golf, including Juli Inkster, Meg Mallon and Christie Kerr.
Brittany said she may visit with Brooke and Killeen when the LPGA Tour returns to the United States for the Fortinet Founders Cup in March in California as part of Brooke’s support system. Brittany also acts as Brooke’s de-facto swing coach when their father, Dave Henderson, does not travel.
This is not the first time that Brooke Henderson has worked with a fill-in caddie. Brittany’s work-visa renewal was stuck in the approval process after marrying Sepanik, an American, which caused her to miss two tournaments in 2021.
Brittany knows this will be a learning curve for them both. They are sisters, after all.
“The unspoken things might not be happening for a while,” Brittany said with a knowing laugh. “Hopefully it will work out pretty well. (Killeen’s) coming in with a lot of experience.”
The Hendersons are one of the LPGA Tour’s longest-standing player-caddie duos, together for more than a decade. They have had incredible success together.
Brittany is also one of just a handful of full-time female caddies on the LPGA Tour.
“Britt and I have worked so well together for the past 10 seasons — and she is my best friend. We travel together all the time, so this is going to be a big change but I’m looking forward to the challenge,” Brooke Henderson told Sportsnet.ca.
Brittany had a short stint as a professional golfer herself after playing golf at Coastal Carolina University, where she was inducted into the school’s Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018. She led Coastal Carolina to a pair of Big South championships in 2011 and 2013.
But now she is on to another thrilling chapter of her life.
“I’m super excited,” Brooke said with a big smile. “It’s amazing. I’m really happy for Brittany and Zach and I’m excited to be an aunt as well.”
The LPGA Tour’s 2026 season kicks off Jan. 29 in Orlando with the Tournament of Champions, which the Hendersons won together in 2023.
